New Members jordanosaurus Posted September 14, 2023 New Members Share Posted September 14, 2023 Hi, one of my Friend found this leg bone in a river bed in Matapedia, Quebec, Canada. After few research, its looks like a metatarsal or a metacarpal from a deer or something like that. The bizarre thing in that case, a Walrus skull was found near the bone.. but its cleary not in the walrus anatomy. Can you help me to indentify this one please, or just, if its a fossil or a modern bone. Thanks !

garyc
Looks camelid to me. A juvenile, missing the epiphysis. Nice find! Edited September 14, 2023 by garyc
New Members jordanosaurus Posted September 14, 2023 Author New Members Share Posted September 14, 2023 A camelid in the Canada? Maybe cervid ?
garyc
It looks very similar to camel/llama metacarpal and metatarsal bones that I have from Texas. I guess in your area elk and moose are candidates. Hard to tell without the epiphysis on that distal end
