Hello all.

I have a trilobite pygidium I collected at the end of August, from a site in Lockport, NY.

It is Silurian aged Rochester Shale, Lewiston member.

I am guessing it is a Dalmanites limulurus, (but I suppose Trimerus dephinocephalus could be a possibility.)

Thoughts and opinions welcome.

Thanks for having a look.

I think it's Dalmanites because of the pygidial furrows. They are more parallel on Trimerus and there would be more axis.

I am unsure due to the poor preservation of the specimen.

I am leaning towards Dalmanties, however.

Thanks for the comment.
