New Members CabinetOfCuriosities Posted November 11, 2023 New Members Share Posted November 11, 2023 I bought this fossil about a year ago and have had it sitting in my display cabinet front and center. It was sold to me as Vetulicola, it came from the Chiungchussu formation in Chengjiang, China. I was wondering if this is actually a Vetulicola species or a similar animal from the formation. It is right at 1cm in length, and the details seem pretty good up close. If it is Vetulicola, is it possible to assign a species to this specimen? Any help would be appreciated! Looks like the item is about a centimeter wide. Isotelus2883
I am absolutely blind. Somehow, I did not see the cm scale bar in EVERY PHOTO.
oilshale
Maybe - or maybe not. Better photos are needed. At the moment I can't see any detail that makes me think of Vetulicola. In most cases, the information provided by the Chinese sellers on the location and geology / stratigraphy is very questionable. You can hardly rely on it.
