Tidgy's Dad
No eggshell texture, no embryo there, I'm afraid, and the outer layer is too thick for anything to able to break out if it were an egg. This is a layered concretion. Edited December 17, 2023 by Tidgy's Dad 9 Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.

Coco
In the future, do not forget to give the size of the supposed fossil in cm or inches, and indicate its place of origin. It is this information that contributes to better identification (when it comes to a fossil). FossilNerd
Unfortunately, it’s not an egg for the reasons @Tidgy's Dad gave, but a fine example of a concretion. I actually like the concentric layering on this one. Worthy of a place on the “cool rock” shelf. 3 The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it. -Neil deGrasse Tyson Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don't. -Bill Nye (The Science Guy)

Mark Kmiecik
Very nice, collectible example of a concretion. Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
