Hi I think I’ve found a small turtle or tortoise but I could be wrong, any information would be appreciated

I agree and say it is suggestively shaped chert.

I'm in the turtle/tortoise shell fragment camp as well. The closeups of the sides of what I believe is showing the internal porous boney structure seems to be very much like the pounds of fragments that we find around here.  Some of ours are equally water worn. Can we see a shot of the larger flat surface to see if there might be any sulci left? What age rocks are in the area? Neat find!

As stated it looks to me to be a small piece of turtle not a small turtle
