New Members ChristineS Posted February 18 New Members Share Posted February 18 Would anyone be able to advise me whether this is a fossil or not? And what type of tooth it could be? (found on a beach near Montrose, Scotland)
fossilus
You might look at sheep or goat.
Balance
We need measurements to determine the species. Cervid because it’s low crown. Deer, goat, sheep… measure the top of the tooth from front to back. Im guessing a deer m1 or m2. - lowercase notes lower dental. Upper case notes upper dental. Since I’m not familiar with the types of deer in Scotland we’d need to look at the measurements of your specific Cervids. Jp
