Egg? Identification

This was found in south Eastern Colorado at an estate sale. 

Friends have told me that it's a fossilized egg!

Let me know your thoughts please!

Looks to be a chert nodule to me. Probably look pretty nice if the cut section was polished, but sorry, not an egg.

Chert or agate nodule.
Definitely not an egg.

agate, chert rock, oooooooooooooooooooor, more as a joke: petrified ham! Color really reminds me to ham

Nice agate. Eggshell is very regular in thickness. That's one indicator that this is not an egg.
