RandyB
I saw a post on facebook that someone was looking to get rid of some fossils they had collected locally so I arranged to meet up this afternoon. Most of what was being offered were carboniferous fossil ferns from St Clair and they had some beautiful examples from the site that has been closed to collecting for several years now.

RandyB
They also offered me a large 15" x 15" trilobite hash plate supposedly collected at a nearby dam. Detail: 1
piranha
The trilobite hash plate was not collected from a nearby dam in St. Clair, Pennsylvania. Pseudogygites latimarginatus is a prolific Ordovician species from Ontario, Canada. It looks like a very nice example for your collection! There is an area to collect Ordovician fossils an hour and a half or so from here. I've only been there once. Edited March 23 by RandyB

bockryan
Wow, incredible stuff. I am glad we still have a few accessible Llewellyn Formation localities but St. Clair is just ridiculous, very sad to miss out on collecting it and that it isn't available for others to enjoy. Great hash plate as well
Jeffrey P
Congrats on some fine acquisitions Randy. Those fern plates certainly make me wish I could return to St. Clair someday. Thanks for sharing them.
