Vertebrae in (Upper?) Glen Rose road cut, Bandera County

Howdy!

My dad got lucky in a road cut that I *think* is Upper Glen Rose near Bandera, TX. Would love help IDing the vertebrae. Found among Porocytis, Heteraster, Hemiaster, DeerHearts, Tylostoma, etc.

it is not a vertebrae, it is an astragalus, and ankle bone of something like a deer or a cow.  I cant tell them apart except for size so please either measure or photograph on Cocos cm graph paper.  There are experts who can tell them apart, but size is still important.  It may also help to do a flame test to see if it is recent.

How about that! I happen to have some, too. Recently collected for my dog to play with and chew. Mine came from a cow carcass while hunting ammonites in Crittenden Springs, NV . 

 

They were still attached by tendons to the bovine leg when collected.
