New Members AlexamenosWHG Posted May 8 New Members Share Posted May 8 I bought a ton of ammonites (think they are perisphinctes from Madagascar) from a salesman. He gifted me this small trilobite. Heard it might be a cast due to the small holes you can see. And I've seen this kind of trilobites from reputable sellers in my country so I'm not sure! Any help is appreciated! rocket
might be casts, but perhaps bad prepped real ones. Looks like moroccean Proetus - Trilobites (when you search in the net with "Proetus morocco" you can find a lot of them to compare)

Josesaurus rex
I agree that it's real, as it has several fine details that are difficult to replicate in a reproduction like the one you showed above. Remember that you can always upload photos of the fossils you want to buy, so that you have a more informed opinion and avoid any wrong purchases, always sticking to the rules of the forum of not mentioning prices or sellers

And if you make a mistake, what you learned from that experience is always useful. But if it's a high cost, things change and it's always better to ask than to regret. The forum is pretty quick in responding to advice on purchases. Just my opinion. Cheers Bobby
