JamieLynn
I've had so much fun reading the various threads on fossil ID I thought I'd throw in a few of my own...these have stumped me, don't know if they are sponges or eggs or what. ..any info would be great! They are from a creek bed that I'm pretty sure is Cretaceous strata (I'm not too good on the stratas...) but it's from North Texas, anyways. The third one is from Central Texas and I'm fairly sure its a shell, but not positive as to what kind. Thanks! www.fossil-quest.com
erose
The round things are "algal fruiting bodies" and their scientific name is Porocytis globularis. They are common in the Glen Rose Formation (Lower Cretaceous) as well as the Walnut and some other formations . The first one has tubes of a Serpulid worm attached. The last photo is probably shell as you suggest but it is a bit hard to say of what. It reminds me of fragments of rudists. You will have to look up Rudists since they are hard to describe beyond "really weird clams".

vertman
The last image looks like a rudist fragment to me as well.
JamieLynn
I did a bit of searching on rudists and I concur- I think it is icthyosarcolite- it has the interior curve like this piece. Much thanks ya'll! www.fossil-quest.com
