Welcome to The Fossil Forum!  i'm sure that there are many members who will be more than happy to try to help you...but we're going to need some basic information.

  1. Where was it found?
  2. What is the size?
  3. Can we get some more pictures from other angles?

Hi there is a huge pile of these wierd concretions found in mission valley in San Diego. Some are full of calcite crystals. They are like huge geodes. I’ve been having fun finding all kinds of shell fossils in them but some have wierd looking things like this in or on them.

Hello and welcome! I am new too! It looks like a thunder egg. But I would wait for an expert to chime in.

I agree with Tony. Don't see a fossil in that, and I don't think it's a thunderegg either. Natural geological forces sure can create some bizzare shapes, but the question is how?, isn't it? I'm sorta stumped on this one, not being familiar wth the geology of mission valley, but maybe someone else here who knows it could supply you with information.
