Darko
Hi everyone. Today i went to my first fossil hunt this year and it was quite succesfull! I went to one Big Cave in Village of Zabrega, Paraćin.That Cave itself is enormous! I Will add some photos of it. But i'm here because of something else..I found couple of lower and upper jaws and also these 2 teeth..Not sure what is it..I'm thinking Deer...Chamois in my region has gone few thousand years ago...I found all of them in that Cave.If someone can identify this as well as jaws it Will be quite nice. Warm regards, Darko

abyssunder
Which Chamois are you referring to? abyssunder
Rupicapra rupicapra balcanica - the balkan chamois is extant. The red deer of your region is probably Cervus elaphus hippelaphus - the Central European red deer. 1 " We are not separate and independent entities, but like links in a chain, and we could not by any means be what we are without those who went before us and showed us the way. Harry Pristis
Sorry, all I know is that the (modern) chamois is a tiny artiodactyl, while a red deer is a very large artiodactyl. 1 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
abyssunder
Have you ruled out the sheep / goat possibility for some of them? Harry Pristis
The mandible appears to me to have deciduous teeth, particularly the p3. The maxillae seem to be from adults. I don't see goat. 3 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
