I have no idea what species this is, but I’d like to know if the outer portion is part of the ammonite or just matrix. Debating whether to haul it out of here or not.

I found this interesting looking fossil in a creekbed in Ft. Worth, Texas. I am calling it my baby Mososaur because I see a small skull and portion of neck. I am a total noob, but that's what I see It would be nice to know what this really is Cheers, Sergej

I found these in a creekbed in Ft. Worth. The first one is a rather interesting shape. The way it sits in the first four pictures, it almost looks like a ceramic piece or art with nice flowing shapes. As a newbie I would guess some kind of coral or sponge. The second one's material seems to be similar but it's not as aesthetic as the first Cheers, Sergej
