I’m pretty sure it’s a tooth, but what do I know?

I found this yesterday in Fort Worth, Texas. It was in a load of rock that was being used for base. I’m curious as to what it is. I hope someone can enlighten me. Thank you

No enamel = no tooth. 

Rudist is a safe bet.

I still can't figure rudists out. I have yet to see any of them that look like a bivalve. :headscratch:

I'm beginning to think that when these scientists found some odd shaped thing they would throw it in a pile and call it a rudist. :rolleyes:

@caldigger, I have always been perplexed with rudists. It is nice to know someone else has issues understanding them!!!
