Bracklesham bay - Sunday

Notidanodon

Recommended Posts

Making the most of the UK sun and the ability to go outside:P I hunted two areas, the London clay produces the pyrite bivalves and wood

the teeth come from the bracklesham fish beds which is slightly younger but both are Eocene

the bivalves with shells on come from the venericor beds which are in between the two in terms of age

I can take photos of the photos later today but here is the view from the top of the cliff and a section of the pyrite bivalve conglomerate

Very rare.

:popcorn::popcorn:

Oh, and Will, photos of the photos may not be the best way of doing this.

But photos of the fossils would be nice. ;)

Indeed, lots of stuff, you'll find tons of little bits in there, I'll warrant.

Love the bivalves, but make sure you do soak them to remove the salt and then you should consider consolidating the ones with the preserved shells as this will dry out, given time, some of mine are just dust thirty years on. :)
