Unknown Specimen

Hi All,

I found this bone on the beach at Miami, Queensland, Gold Coast.

December 2019.

I would really appreciate some help in identifying it please.

It's an interesting find that should have enough features to be identifiable. 

Perhaps a piece of a pelvis ?

The texture could pass for fishy all right. It would be a big 'ne.

I thought that it may be a pelvis piece. So that hole is the obtuator foramen?

I doubt that. It is the right basic idea for the clue one would need though. Something with many vessels and nerves passing through it.

The list is probably longer than it might seem though.

I'm a newbie to ID but have studied human anatomy and physiology. 

So much to learn, so little time!

Off to learn about foramen.
