FossilNerd
What do dinosaur bones taste like? Chicken? Very cool JPC! I'll definitely tune to PBS on the 17th! As a matter of fact... Here I go to set the DVR so I don't miss it. 1 The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it. -Neil deGrasse Tyson Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don't. -Bill Nye (The Science Guy)

JohnJ
@jpc You were having way too much fun playing in the plaster. Pagurus
Nice hat! I just watched the show tonight, not knowing you were part of it. When they got to your segment, I yelled to my wife, "I know that guy!" You were great, and I enjoyed seeing the Tate Museum. Massachusetts sends it's regards. 1 Start the day with a smile and get it over with.

Wrangellian
Just caught it. Good program... My only complaint is, I don't know why they couldn't give some closeups of the small fossils such as that fish at Bear Gulch. Fun to see one of our own on the TV. Looking forward to the next episode.

Yes, I agree that they should have showed a closer view of some of the finds. But I really liked the animations they did. Simple and understandable. Not overly CGIed like you see in many such shows. For those who missed it, it is veiwable here until July 15th. https://www.pbs.org/video/welcome-to-fossil-country-mpoq6h/

I thought the same thing. Would have been nice to see a close-up of a falcatus or some of the other early sharks found in the area. Really good episode otherwise. LordTrilobite
That was lovely! Emily's infections enthusiasm always works wonders for making these topics fun and engaging. The show really shows a nice variety of locations and the fossils in them. Great attention to detail for showing the process too. And of course fun to see @jpc on that Morrison dig. Pickles the dog was clearly the highlight of the episode though. I also love that sign "Pterosaur Ptracks" in Tate Museum. 1 Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite

So many times in books I've seen that diagram of how stromatolites were formed, but this had to be the first time I've seen it animated!
