help id this fossil

Lots of rocks with tiny fossils. This was on one of these rocks.  Most of the fossils are Crinoids but this looks like something else  Any ideas?

Looks like an orthoconic nautiloid.

Here is a pic of what you mentioned...looks a lot like the smaller stem of one!

They exist in quite a range of sizes.  If you can  see the end of yours, you should be able to see the siphuncle, which will look like a small circle within the larger circle.

Google images for "pseudorthoceras" and "Mooreoceras".

Locality and the age of deposits may help to narrow down the species.
