Hi there, this is was found on rock wall at a private residence. The rocks came from a farm in north east Ohio. Haven't found anything that looks like it....thankyou!

What a nice, naturally sectioned specimen! Thanks for sharing.
This is a longitudinal section of an orthoconic nautiloid (orthocerid), a cephalopod, quite well preserved. You can see the septa (dividing walls) and the narrow "pipe" in the middle. This is the siphuncle. Local member can give a hint to formation and age.

Hi Franz, thankyou so much for your identification. I'll be looking online now for more examples of these. The wall is kind of flat. It's an edging around a large pond, so no rubble with the rock removal;)
