Becky Benfer
Found in Lake Erie , Sandusky Ohio. Looks like a snail shape to me. It’s not very big - smaller than a penny. Just thought I’d gather some information on it. Thanks for any information.

minnbuckeye
I was just leaving tomorrow morning for a trip to Marblehead, but it was canceled ( my sister was exposed to a student with Covid). Was that found in the bay or in the lake?? Look carefully in the rugosa coral's cup. It appears like it may have captured a few potential fossils. Your picture is too blurry to tell when I enlarge it. Mike
Becky Benfer
Sorry to hear your trip was cancelled..... hopefully all will clear up and you’ll be able to make the trip soon. I found this in the lake, I was using a hand sifter along the beach looking for shells, rocks, fossils, and of course the famous “lucky stones”. I really didn’t expect to find this! I really wanted to find a petosky stone but have been told they are only found at Kelly’s Island. I found a nice mixture of different stones - and a mixture of fun shells and interesting fossils. I live fairly close so I’m hoping to go back on the weekend before it gets too cold. Here’s a pic of my lucky stone ( I know it’s a bone hahaha!) and some shells .
