New Species of Feathered Dinosaur From South America

Strange streamers on the shoulders of this chicken sized feathered dinosaur were probably used for display.

Pretty strange looking thing.

Yes, but I'll bet the real one was more colorful. Most avian dinosaurs with strange display ornamentation tend to be colorful, even if it is structural color. If the fossil is well enough preserved, I'll bet someone gets out a microscope and looks for structure of melanosomes
