Harryhausen. A trip to the Scottish National Gallery in Edinburgh

We’ve just been to the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art in Edinburgh to see the Ray Harryhausen exhibition.

The exhibition contains models and drawings that Ray Harryhausen made for his various movies.

It was a great exhibition and well worth a visit. It had all the models from my favourite films like Jason and the Argonauts, Clash of the Titans and the three Sinbad movies.

Why this thread on the fossil forum. Well Ray loved dinosaurs and he was lifelong friends with Ray Bradbury who also loved dinosaurs.

I was 4 years old ... My dad would not take me to Mighty Joe Young... too scary for a 4 year old..  Both Ray's were fantastic ... messing with an adolescent mind ...  I guess they had some input to my dreams...

Ray's works include the animation for Mighty Joe Young (1949), with his mentor Willis H. O'Brien, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects; his first color film, The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958); and Jason and the Argonauts (1963), which featured a sword fight with seven skeleton warriors.

Thanks for sharing...
