Het Patel
When I saw it I decided to scrap dirt from it sides so that it could be visible more clearly. I know it may be too small for an egg but it may be egg of a small snake or lizard?
Rockwood
While there is an incredibly slim chance that you are correct, this looks to be a weathered concretion. The pattern in the texture is typical, and the shape in question would be formed as a core that had not weathered to the same degree as the more exposed surface area did. Het Patel
I don't think there are any chances that it is a concretion. And I am also not saying that it is definitely an egg it may be any other fossil.

It may be hard to identify due to the deterioration that occurred before it was preserved In that case, however. The minerals that made it up having been incorporated into a general surrounding concretionary environment.
Het Patel
Whar you are generalizing is right but unfortunately it's not looking like a concretion overall. Edited September 14, 2021 by Het Patel

I think it really needs some detailed studying before we get into conclusion that weather it is a fossilized egg or not.
JesseKoz
Do you recall the location of this find by chance? Or even better the geological formation it comes from. If I find something interesting the first thing I want to work out is a rough age, and even better would be the name of the formation. You can then either rule out theories of what the fossil might be, or narrow down some suspects. At the moment I can't make out any details that hint toward a fossilised egg.
Fossildude19
It is not an egg. There is no egg shell texture. It may be some other fossil. or just a different mineral inclusion. Not an egg. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."
