This looks like a tabulate coral, to me.

If you could give a rough location, we might be able to narrow down the ID. I suspect it's a Favosites (which is of course a tabulate) from the Silurian

Thank you TqB, it certainly is Silurian, also found these.

Not sure if anything in the first picture can be identified.

I had no idea fossils like this could be found in my area, kind of stumbled across these when I was out exploring! Done a bit of research though and found another place, will have a day out and make a proper post soon, hopefully have some trilobites to show off

Contrarian trigger alert.

I see pedicle and brachial valves of a Leptaena.

I think.

Rockwood is correct that there are a couple of Leptanea brachiopods (marked as #1).  There are also a couple of atrypid brachiopods (#2, and the 2nd photo).

  • 1 month later...

Rather than start a new thread I thought I would bump this one. Had a half an hour at the same spot today before it got dark.

Have I found trilobits? Some I think are probably imprints of brachiopods, some I'm not so sure about.

Thanks, Mark

Also randomly, there are massive boulders reinforcing the bank, on a couple I spotted these imprints, are they plant? Look almost like tyre tracks

Wow. Great finds, Mark!

I see some Rhynchonellid brachiopods, maybe some Dalmantid trilobite pygidiums.

The worn trilobite looks like a Dalmantid to me as well. Also, a possible Flexicalymene pygiidum?

@piranha  @Kane

Definitely looks like some plant fossils there. Congratulations on these finds!

It's possible that these are plant fossils. The first would be lycopod periderm, the second the arial roots of a tree fern. The detail isn't clear enough to really be confident of either though.
