Another small jaw

Small jaw found in Southeast Texas.  Looks consistent with the other Pleistocene fossils I've found in the area.

 

Since everyone was able to help with the other jaw, I figured I'd give this one a shot.

You've been on fire with all this Texas Pleistocene stuff lately! Can't really help but I can admire at least

My first instinct was deer jaw, and looking at some pictures on Google images it seems like a pretty good match. It's hard to get a feel for what the roots of the teeth look like when they're still in the jaw itself, but some of the side profile views I saw sort that out. The real dead ringer for me is the placement of the mental foramen (the small hole on the outside of the jawbone) just in front of and below where the last tooth would have been located. 

Nice find! I've been away from the river since the summer for college but I can't wait to get back over break. Hopefully you haven't found all the good stuff by then!

Thanks!  I was leaning that way but wasn't sure if the root holes were a good fit.  I'm sure there will be plenty left for you.  I'm lucky to get to go pretty often, but I'm slow, so I don't cover much ground.
