Sea Creature fossils (part 1)

I got this in a creek bed near Uvalde, Tx and it appears to be some kind of worm.   Part of one anyway.  If you look closely you can see perfectly straight lines running horizontally and parallel to each other to form segments.   I believe earthworms have this characteristic.  Anybody know what it is?

I had a hard time getting those lines underneath the petina to show up but I find different sizes of these and some of them that aren't too broken have a pointed but blunt tip like a worm.  They all have that dark colored core.  I know that organic material that gets petrified turns into whatever mineral is dissolved in the water given that the circumstances are.  Mostly silicates

If those are segments divided by lines you have an orthoconic nautiloid which is too old to be found near Uvalde so someone must have dropped it there. You will not find a fossilized worm so it can't be that. Only hard organic material gets replaced by silicates like shells.
