Mazon Creek Thing

I was splitting open some Mazon Creek nodules I've had for a while about a half hour ago when this enigma popped out, I have no clue what it is.  The nodule is from Pit 11.

My first thought was Annularia radiata, but I've been wrong before.

I said Asterophyllites because it looks like the leaves are pointing upwards towards the branch apex. If this were Annularia, then in each case we're looking at ~1/4 of a whorl, so too many leaves for A. radiata. That would leave A. inflata, but assuming the ruler is in inches the whorls too small. All that said, the specimen is small, fragmentary, and poorly preserved, so I am not 100% positive, but Asterophyllites seems most reasonable given the pictures.
