Looks like bovid vertebra to me. Cow or bison. I'm no expert though, so wait for others to chime in.

Definitely a lumbar cattle vertebra, without measurements for the vertebral body and the height of the spinous process I can't provide a more specific identification. Cool find!

Bison if found in river deposits most likely.   Or cow.
