Member of the Month-Crusty_Crab-May 2022

As May spring breezes relegate April flurries to (not-so-distant) memories, the endless cycle of the months reminds us that it is time to select another exemplary inhabitant of the Fossil Forum as our Member of the Month.

Although our honoree chose to name himself after a denizen of the marine realm, he graces us with his knowledge of a wide range of organisms both terrestrial and marine.  His expertise with insects is particularly appreciated (at least by me), but he can always be counted on to offer insightful suggests on a wide variety of fossils, from tentaculitids to brachiopods to toothsome sharks.  He also offers a wealth of information on a myriad of technical issues from sieving microfossils to USB microscopes.

This month, the crown is given to recognize @Crusty_Crab for his many contributions to our community!

Let's offer our congratulations to:

We would all like to hear about your back story, how fossils came into your life and how you found your way to the Fossil Forum

Enjoy your crown!!  It is well deserved.

Thanks to everyone for the honor! Thanks for providing a community by which people from all over the world united in their interest in fossils can learn from each other! I know I've certainly learned a lot here. Additionally, I owe a great debt to the Treatise on Invertebrate Paleontologyhttp://paleo.ku.edu/treatise2/treatise.html. They are absolutely outstanding references- I've made it a life goal to read and comprehend every up to date volume published. Thanks to generous sponsorship from several professional organizations and the National Science Foundation, they are essentially published at cost and are accessible to everyone even with modest means.
