Alex BC
Hello there! I was looking around the Fossil ID sections and saw a post about a piece of petrified wood which looks very close to this unidentified bit I found on a beach in Calvert Cliffs state park in Maryland. Does anyone have any information that can definitively classify this as petrified wood? Thanks in advance!
debivort
some pieces of marine mammal bone from Calvert Cliffs have that texture. Edited August 17, 2022 by debivort typo
Rockwood
It does look more like bone than wood to me. It would be hard to identify beyond that however. 1
