Welcome to the Forum.

Does this have an unnatural polish? It looks like the human cut and polished Shiva Lingam Stones. Notice near similar color and patterns.

Definitely not an egg at any rate. What leads you to say that the "outer shell" peeled off where the spots are? Did you do that yourself or are you just imagining that?

The alternate explanation would be that these are inclusions which were more resistant to wear during whatever process shaped the stone.

The shape is close, but I agree that it is not an egg.

I can feel it.  I found it that way.  There are ridges where the spots are

So you're imagining it. Granted, it may not be a shiva, since DPS only suggested that it looks like one, but it is definitely a rock and not an egg. Please study this.

I’m imaging that I feel the ridges where the spots are?  Ok.  Well it probably is a shiva.  But I haven’t imagined anything.

Hello and welcome to the forum. It's a beautiful rock that suggests an egg shape. But its not a Dinosaur egg.

Roger, I'm fairly certain she means she can feel it with her fingers, not her emotions.  ;)

@Cindy Casqueira it's a cool looking stone.  The spots were deeper depressions that exceeded the extent of the overall erosion.

Yes, of course I understood that she was referring here to the ridges which she could feel with her fingers. I was rather referring with my comment to the above quote which she made at the beginning of the thread about a nonexistent shell. I hope I've made myself understood now.

It appears that other Shiva Lingam stones have been found in the Arizona desert. I think burying them brings good luck. Again, note similarity.

Thousands of Shiva stones are sold every year in Tucson at the numerous rock shows. A few probably escape captivity.

Did you find it is pristine desert outside of human influence?

Having seen millions of water worn stones in my lifetime, the elongated oval shape of your rock is extremely extremely rare. It had human help to made it into that shape.
