Ginger0412
Are these fossil footprints real? If anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks in advance!
Fossildude19
The footprint looks real, but has been painted, to better show the footprint. It is the overprint (convex) that would have filled the original imprint (concave). 1 2 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." Is it the probable shadow on the right side of both the print and the slab that is the clue? My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned. Over prints can be very difficult to make out, unless using low angle lighting to bring them out. Over prints are also more often colored/highlighted/painted in this way, as they are hard to see. This is what I am seeing as the actual footprint that remains in the overprint. 1 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."
