This trip (last weekend) was long overdue, I haven't been to the San Juan Basin in months.

 

I love ammonites, but I snargin' love dinosaurs. Just wanted to share some photos.

 

Hadrosaurine...

Made a detour on the way home for some ammonites...

 

 

...with a few surprises, a heteromorph ammonite...

Wow. I would give my right.... well, big toe, to find dino material!

I spent a week in Montana, and outside some of the nicest ammonites I've ever found, the dino material was quite sad.

I ended up with one weathered dino tail vert, a 2ft square of busted up Triceriptopsian frill, a turtle vert, and about 2" of the end of a hadrosaur tibia. Not very good for 48 hours of driving, and a week of hunting.

I'd be dancing on the ceiling if I found these specimens!!

Thank you. It was a great weekend (better than some others). Regardless, fossil hunting is good therapy.

Nice report....and great finds....how do you like living in New Mexico? I am thinking of buying some land there.
