Ive been told that this is bison, but figured i would post it on here for opinions. I don't know alot about what particular types of bones are what except for obvious structure i suppose. I found this in east fort worth in a portion of the trinity river just laying in river deposits. A hundred people walked over it probably.

I don't think anybody would be able to give it a confident identification..It would all be guesses without more of the bone with diagnostic features on it.

That happens sometimes.... Good job with the in-situ photo next to the keys. Those always make me want to get out and do some hunting.

It's usually buffalo around DFW if its not fossilized and it has the "mahogany furniture" color. That's a piece of American Buffalo I would bet. Look at the ones I posted.
