The one with what looks like the base of the leaf frond is interesting. Might help to see what kind of attachment for the fronds.

The last one includes another winged seed called either cardiocrarpum or Samaropsis. I personally, think that the winged seeds might be megalopteris seeds. These particular kind only appear at other locations with lots megalopteris.

If you can, would you email me a higher res of the middle one in the first post? Might look at the stem base closer.

Got the photo. Still hard to see much detail.

The long thick leafless petioles on these (and overall shape) just shouts cycad or cycadeoid to me..... what do others think?

Hi Sherry,

Coming back to this one. There are two parts of this that would deserve closer look. If you could get closer photos of the circled areas that would be great. Hope this ones not too hard to find.

One is the base of the petiole. It might help us determine how it attached and what kind of plant it is.

The second area shows some kind of cone laying on top of the leaves. If it is a cone associated with this plant, it would be really significant to figure out its category.

The little cone-like thing is on both sides. See here.

It might be something or it might only be a lose bit from a lepidodendron.

Here's the detail from the one image you emailed me with some contrast added.

Not sure what it is. anyone else have thoughts? Could it be some reproductive part related to this "Danaeites"?

Hard to analyze...It could even be a coprolite.

I know. Hard to tell.

I keep hoping for something that might tell us what category to put this thing in!!!

Is it a Bennettite, Cycad, Peltasperm, Seed Fern or Fern? The world may never know :)
