is this some kind of stromatolite or other fossil?

I am afraid to wash or try to clean it. Doesn’t look like other stromatolites I have found in Western Pa.

It is very poorly preserved, but it could be a bryozoan.

Doesn't look like a stromatolite to me.

Not sure what it is

Could be fragments of a Sphenophyllum sp.

Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!

I don't see any clear indication that it's more than an iron rich concretion.

I tried to clean it up a bit and I do see marine fossil looking patterns. It looks a bit like a concretion but also like a fossilized colony with stems poking out or something burrowing in. How could it be both?
