Cam28
Guess this counts as a mishap. Have a around 1 inch turtle scute from my first fossil hunt that had been falling apart from drying out. Somehow or another pieces split off on the ventral side, and I super glued it back together. Either to be extra cautious or just out of curiosity I further stabilized it in a mix of acetone & polyvinyl acetate (pva). Left some white and light blueish residues around the parts with excess superglue. Still holding up well, definitely wouldn't mix all those again but kinda neat for a little common fossil experiment. And I'm sure I've had some minor incidents like everyone else with that goop
John
My general rule is to never use these kinds of glues without having the debonder within arms reach! “When you're riding in a time machine way far into the future, don't stick your elbow out the window, or it'll turn into a fossil.” - Jack Handy
