austinswamp
This came from a quarry in San Patricio county. It's pourous and larger than any other vertebrae I've found. Thanks
ynot
Does not look like a vert to Me. Can You take pictures from the other sides? Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Miocene_Mason
It's looks like a vert to me, especially with this new picture, don't know what it could be though, what's the age of the deposits, and is it land or marine? “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason
ynot
Has the shape but does not have structure of bone. Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Here's a whale neck vert I have with a similar texture. Kinda bump and smooth. The bone texture should only be on worn parts, right? On the second picture you can see bone structure on the top. “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason

It does seem to have the general shape, but I see nothing that tells me it is bone. Maybe more pictures and some close ups of the "texture" can help. caldigger
That shot shows the cellular structure much better. Abyssunder might be onto something.
