Don't know what this is. Is it a fossil?

Fossils?

I don't know if it is a fossil or not. It might be ironIMG_7572.thumb.JPG.bfda6bc0f7bab0d8bb382512bfa63772.JPG

Kane

Looks like a concretion of some sort. Best to take a picture with something more precise to indicate scale, such as a ruler or tape measure.

Using a U.S. penny for scale helps all of us in the U.S. and even some of our Canadian members to "size" something. However we have members in Europe, Asia, South America, Australia and other places in the world. They have no idea of the size of a U.S. penny.

Using a rule of some type is best, preferably metric (millimeters or centimeters) as that is the world standard.

As far as you find, I agree with Kane that it is a concretion of some type.

Not a fossil.

It could be very well an ironstone concretion. It is really hard to find an exact match, but you can see similar patters. :)

Definitely an iron concretion. I stumble accross similar ones often when looking for fossil Ice Age bones on the Zandmotor (NL).

I don't like them, because they attract the eye for nothing :P

If they correspond to where you are searching for fossils there could be a little something. Like if you are searching in the right place.

Huh. That's a good point. New research topic?
