isaak
Hi, I have just joined. I found this fossil on the rocks at a reservoir in Derby. Any idea what it is?
Fossildude19
Hello Isaak. Welcome to the Fossil Forum. I think you have a modern fish skull there, and not a fossil. Looks like a predatory fish. I would think from the size, probably a Pike. Let's wait for some local opinions, though. GeschWhat
Yikes! I'd hate to swim in that pond. I have no idea what it is, just wanted to say welcome! Lori www.areallycrappystory.com/fossils www.facebook.com/fossilpoo

coled18
Greetings from Kansas! I agree with @Fossildude19. Modern jaw of something from the Esox Genus, probably Pike or Muskellunge. CD
Taogan
Greetings, what you have is a partial skull including the jaw of Esox ferox, a pike. The teeth are very distinctive

Fishkeeper
It's dark like that because the fish's skin is still adhered to it, but it's definitely a modern skull. Nice find, still! Not complete, but that's the most impressive part.
