Ptychodus04
Ok fish friends, I need some help on an ID. This fish is from Ciudad Cerralvo, Mexico (east of Monterrey). Based on the geologic maps, it could be late Maastrichtian. It has an overall feel of Pachyrhizodus minimus to me but I’m hoping for another opinion. Fossildude19
Sorry, I've got nothing for this. While it looks a bit like Pachyrhizodus minimus, the dorsal fin looks a bit far back, and close to the body. Great fossil, though. 2 Tim - VETERAN SHALE SPLITTER VFOTM --- APRIL - 2015 __________________________________________________ "In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." doushantuo
Pachyrhizodus (cf.)caninus, possibly There's a lack of diachroneous appearances of the miscellaneous P. species, which has caused some doubts to be cast on the validity of some of them Cretaceous headhunting: Piranha was maybe partly on the right track, because G.Arambourgi might be a possibility
