Florida meg collection

Just wanted to post a pic of my current display worthy megs. All from Florida and all except one little posterior which was mislabeled as a tiger and I couldn’t pass up for 1$ are personal finds lol. A mix of dive, land and creek finds and quite a few years in the making. Not as big as some folks in the Carolinas regularly find, a “big” tooth to me is 3 inches plus but the colors of bone valley sure do make for a nice display :)

Hey Jeff,

Great display!!!  Is this another table like in your dining room? Didn't that have nice megs in it? Will have to check it out on my next Florida vacation.

Ya, marvelous display unit, almost looks like the shape of a tooth in itself.  Seems like you'll be needing another table soon.

Impressive Jeff, even for grizzled Florida fossil hunters, you have excelled. I just consider the absolute joy you had in finding each and every one. I guess I should have attached myself to your hip pocket when you 1st came on the scene.  May you need a bigger display case!  :meganim:

Impressive!  Lots of real screamers!  Love the bone valley colors!

Most of the megs that I find in MD/VA are 3" or under.  I still haven't found a meg over 6" in MD/VA.  My sons who have found several thousand megs in MD/VA haven't either.  I have a meg curse.  I always find the worn, damaged ones.  I found some of my nicest condition megs diving in the Chesapeake Bay back in the early 1970s.

I've only got 2 Megs, one whole one and one busted one, from the same trip. Then again, I've only really made 2 trips dedicated to finding said Megs. Nice one ya got there.

Every single fossil you see is a miracle set in stone, and should be treated as such.
