Chippewa
I really tried to ID this tooth fragment myself, but not completely sure. Two pictures of the occlusal surface and one showing the broken end. I think this might be a sloth forward molar? The size is making me doubt though - it is smaller than most sloth teeth that I see as photo references. I've learned from TFF that the sloth teeth have numerous forms and have no enamel, so maybe I'm on the right track... Thanks for the help... Miocene_Mason
For those who don’t read the tags, this is a north Florida Pleistocene find right? “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason
Tidgy's Dad
It looks very much like a sloth tooth to me. I think it is one. Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.

Harry Pristis
Definitely sloth. Size alone is unreliable for species ID since the teeth are continuously growing during life. 2 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
