Rowboater
Found this in my bucket along with my other teeth and bits and pieces. Appears to be skin (fish?) Can anyone tell me more? Flat with shiny black enamel diamond pattern.
Rockwood
We are most likely going to need a closer look at this before anyone can be certain. Where it was found would help as well.

Miocene_Mason
Yeah need more pics but I’m guessing that it’s scales. “...whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been and are being evolved.” ~ Charles Darwin Happy hunting, Mason
Al Dente
I would occasionally find fish bone with scale imprints at Lee Creek, most likely Yorktown Formation. I'm guessing they are from the side of the head of the fish. Here are a couple I found. One has the scale pattern on the back too.

I find a lot of steinkerns, mostly broken, of shells, but nothing that detailed.
Rowboater
Here are a few more phone photos. It is a small piece and slightly curved. Don't think it is an impression. Waiting for the back to load but just nodescript matrix
Rockwood
I think we may be close to a ganoid fish scale ID. Body as opposed to impression.
