Every year I head North to run fence line for a few of the ranchers that grant me access to their properties. Its a small price to pay for unlimited access.

I left Denver and drove thru 6 inches of snow just 20 miles South of Laramie.

By Friday it had warmed back up into the 60"s. Early May the country is green and the

prairie flowers are just starting to bloom.

A view of the country I was in. There was still snow down by the creek.

Grass was short so we were looking for indian artifacts. Found what looked like a small lower cow jaw

buried in the sand. Found some nice petrified wood.

Some wildlife shots and a sunset. Lots of agates, jasper and other pretty rocks.

The horned toads are always fun to see. This trip we saw 3 of them and 1 garter snake.

Occasionally we have close encounters of the wildlife kind.

Sometimes if I'm lucky they will stick around for a picture.

The first is a Wyoming swift fox, when they run they bounce like a kangaroo.

I believe they maybe endangered but I could be wrong. They are making a great recovery.

The second one is the allusive bobcat. I came across this guy as he was putting the moves on a antelope.

A very neat and rare animal to see in the wild.

Wow, that bobcat encounter is a rare and neat thing.  Nice artifacts, too.  Thanks for posting.  Makes me wish Wyoming was in my summer plans this year.

Excellent bobcat sighting.  I have been fossiling here in Wyoming for a mere 28 years and have only stumbled on upon one bobcat. (My wife saw one one of the first times I took her out)

I've enjoyed reading your posts and seeing your pictures. Those pictures were South of you in the Shirley Basin area. I learned a long time ago to always have your camera ready. It takes me less than 2 seconds to get it out and yet I still miss getting the picture. I stepped over a crack a few years ago and just happened to look down. I had just stepped over a mother bobcat with a very young kitten. Not 3 feet from me. I'll find that picture. Wife and kid got to see that.

No pictures of the face to face I had with a bear. I'm glad it was as scared as I.
