Lucky bug!  Lived to a ripe old age (judging by the size), buried while perfectly articulated and inflated, survived untouched by erosion or tectonic forces for 385 million years, only to be picked up by a master craftsman who recognized its potential in the field and had the skill to restore it to its original beauty.

What a perfect, flawless piece! And what skill to be able to expose that perfection for the world to see, it is truly extraordinary.

It's perfect...

...too perfect...

Is this a plastic replica...? :P

Also, how do you get it to have that black shine?

Every single fossil you see is a miracle set in stone, and should be treated as such.

Soft toothbrush at end and very careful prep no overblasting

I was going to say the same thing - looks artificial it's so good - except I have a fake one (cast) and it doesn't look nearly as good.

I don't have any perfect bugs though I've got a small completish Widder Greenops coated in glue that I'd like to send you... and my best crinoid from my local Cretaceous spot deserves your professional treatment. It's still sitting in pieces in a flat on my card table.

What is "local"?

Also, professional? At least when it comes to prep work, professional would be waaaaaay beyond my league. :P

Local in this case is almost within sight of home, except for trees in the way!

Sorry, I was addressing Malcolm... I should have made a separate post.

Amazing prep work! You literally transformed the block and managed to very carefully reveal this absolutely beautiful and perfect bug. Master prep work.:trilowalk:
