This area I believe is part of the Austin chalk formation. whats odd is the two small cuts and what looks like worms fossilized on the underside. It’s hard like rock. DPS Ammonite Posted August 23, 2018 Share Posted August 23, 2018 It looks like part of an Inoceramus valve with Serpula on it. The cuts do not look modern; they are probably eroded cracks. I also see small spiral Spirorbis polychaete worm tubes on the shell. Show us detail of the ends of the object. Inoceramus shells have distinctive prismatic calcite crystals that are normal to the surface. 6 My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned.
