Hi all,

Very new to fossils, but stumbled upon this. It was found on the shore in Long Beach, CA. Wondering if yall could help.

Thanks!

Doesn't look particularly like a fossil to me but it is difficult from just photos. It resembles a very worn piece of a mollusk shell--particularly the striations in the second photo.

Is the beach where you picked this up known for having fossils?

Cheers.

The coloration is quite beautiful. I would also be guessing, but it looks like ribs of a shell.
