Bone Daddy
Another Bone Valley Florida find, Peace River, Polk county, Hawthorn group. This large weirdly-shaped bone has a strange (to me) marking/pattern on it. Is this a big gator bone maybe? (it's the big "crab claw" shaped bone on the upper right). Second photo shows the opposite side with my hand for scale. Thanks!

ynot
Looks like part of a skull. Darwin said: " Man sprang from monkeys." Will Rogers said: " Some of them didn't spring far enough." Harry Pristis
It's an articular, the bone at the rear of the 'gator mandible. There are major portions of the surangular and angular attached . . . those two are the articulating bones in the ramus. 5 http://pristis.wix.com/the-demijohn-page What seest thou else In the dark backward and abysm of time? ---Shakespeare, The Tempest
